Hello everyone, my name is Shaunese Cradle and I started this blog to preserve the journey of obtaining my MBA at the University of Denver's Daniel's College of Business and also to be a resource to other student's who may be interested in getting their MBA or who are already in the process but are seeking a place to discuss scholarships, internships, interview techniques, or anything else pertaining to Business school and the pursuit of an MBA degree. As with most blogs, this will be an evolving organic compilation of my experiences with academics, student organizations, networking, and professional accomplishments as well as challenges. I'm excited to start this new chapter of my life. A little about me
To discuss my background succinctly, I first found my passion for business when I was eleven years old. My mother started her own company with my younger sister and me and I was intrigued by how you can conceive a company just by understanding what people need and providing a service that eliminates that need. At the age of twelve I had already successfully, albeit not without a few stumbling blocks, created and distributed company materials to venues based on market research and demographic statistics, established a referral system through various online sources, and developed a website. It was through these tasks that I became familiar with basic business concepts and truly learned to love it.
I continued to work for my family's business (Cradle Controll, LLC), which has grown to four locations, throughout college but I focused primarily on obtaining more education on other business components such as finance, economics, and international marketing. I knew that there was also a growing Hispanic market that I wanted to cater towards so I also took language courses to become proficient. After obtaining my B.S. in International Marketing from Regis University in Denver, Colorado I worked for a year as the company's Marketing Director for the umbrella corporation Cradle Controll, LLC and the newly established non-profit, the Cradle Community Resource Center. Both provided valuable experiences and challenges that stimulated me.
Although I was content with my position and tasks in the company, I have had a strong desire to start my own business since I was a young child and it is for that reason, that I resided from my position and decided to continue my education through a Full-time MBA program at the University of Denver.
